Mia Khalifa message sparks debate—'I do not support all women' (2024)

Mia Khalifa has declared in a viral social media post that she "[does] not support all women," as she took a swipe at those who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The former adult film star regularly sparks discussion among social media users, particularly over the past several months, where she has voiced her support for Palestinians and leveled criticism at Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Israel and Hamas have been locked in a war after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Much of Gaza has since been razed by Israeli forces, with many of its 2.3 million residents displaced.

More than 37,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its invasion of Gaza, according to The Associated Press, citing Gaza health officials. Israeli officials say that roughly 1,200 people were killed in the October 7 Hamas attack, during which about 250 people were taken hostage.

Showing her aversion to Israel's military, Khalifa recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to share that she does not stand in solidarity with women who serve in the IDF.

"I do not support all women!!!!!!" Khalifa wrote. "Some of these b****** serve in the IDF, and I'd rather have my kind of body count than the one they're tallying up of dead children."

As of press time, the post has garnered more than 8 million views. Newsweek has contacted representatives of Khalifa via email for comment.

Khalifa's post sparked a mixed reaction from X users, one of whom responded: "She's right. Only a psychopath would think that having sex is worse than committing genocide."

"Being a p*rn star is an infinitely more respectable job than being an IDF soldier," read another comment.

"The queen has spoken and truer words were never said," one supporter weighed in, while another said: "Sister Mia Khalifa knocks it out of the park again. She has more integrity than most parliaments of depraved demons the world over."

"It's so backwards that killing for a living is considered honorable but giving pleasure for a living isn't," a different X user stated.

Khalifa also faced criticism for her remarks, with one detractor hitting back: "Imagine living in a world where Mia Khalifa is calling other women b****** and giving lectures on s***** things. Well, we are living in that world now."

"Meanwhile she supports Hamas that murdered and kidnapped children," another commented.

A different person asked if Khalifa expected the IDF to drop its weapons and "surrender to Hamas terrorists who'll eventually end up raping and killing them."

"You don't serve in any army but get this Hamas will literally f*** you up only for your Hijab p*rno," they wrote.

"But the brave freedom fighter of Hamas should put their phones in landscape mode when they are firing indiscriminately into porta-potties at a music festival full of civilians!" wrote another detractor.

The phone comment referred to an X post that Lebanese-born Khalifa shared about Palestinian "freedom fighters" shortly after the October 7 attacks.

Referring to the footage coming out of the region at the time, she said on the microblogging platform: "Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal."

Following a wave of criticism, Khalifa sought to clarify her comment in a follow-up statement on October 9.

"I just want to make it clear that this statement in no way shape or form is [inciting] spread of violence," she said in a since-deleted post. "I specifically said freedom fighters because that's what the Palestinian citizens are ... fighting for freedom every day."

Playboy was one of two companies that quickly severed ties with Khalifa. She was also publicly fired from her role as an adviser at Red Light Holland, which produces and distributes magic truffles.

Defending herself at the time, Khalifa said on X: "I just wanna make sure there's 4k footage of my people breaking down the walls of the open air prison they've been forced out of their homes and into so we have good options for the history books that write about how they freed themselves from apartheid."
