Tried to operate heater for pool which I normally leave at 90 degrees. Water was not that hot so I read display and it read Water SW Open. Switched to SPA mode and no change. What is the fix?

This means that the pressure switch is not closing. Generally, this is a lack of water flow issue. The main cause is a dirty filter. Clean cartridges, backwash sand, backwash and recharge DE, whatever is needed to clean the filter, this should fix the problem. If not check other sources of restricted flow: filter baskets, pump baskets, shut-off valves. If everything is clear and there is good flow returning to the pool it could be a bad pressure switch. Replace with the correct switch for your heater.

SOURCE: Panel reads "water sensor opened"

I had the same problem. The water sensor is on a pipe running into your pump. It will have a circular clamp around it. Remove the clamp and pull the sensor out of the pipe. The wires should run into your control box. disconnect the wires and replace. My water sensor was part 7790. Not sure if you have the same one. Do an online search. bestbuypoolsupply.com has them for $50 plus 9 for shippng. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My pool heater will not start. The power light is off and the pressure sw is lit.

You must turn on the pump and let water circulate through the pool and the heater before you turn on the heater otherwise you will ruin the heater

Hs error code what does it mean?

Water Temperature Sensing Error

A) Inlet water temperature sensor is reporting a temperature in excess of 104 degrees. Normal operation resumes 2 minutes after inlet water temperature sensor reports temperatures of 104 degrees or less. This error functions in both normal and remote thermostat modes.
or

B) Inlet water temperature sensor is reporting a temperature change at a rate faster than 6 degrees in 60 seconds, indicating a potentially damaging low water flow condition. Normal operation resumes when temperatures stabilize. If this condition is detected 3 times, the heater will lock-out until the electrical power is cycled off and back on.

Water sw open

This shows insufficient water flow through heater, does the water flow look normal at pool or in pump lid? If so it is probably a clog or faulty pressure switch. If not the problem is not the heater.

How long does it take to heat a spa pool?

All depends on the amount of water in the spa or pool, and the size of the heater in BTU's. The time for "Heat Rise" will vary and the answer you are looking for can't be provided with amount of info you provided. But if a general rule of thumb - the closest answer: Spa with a gas heater, 1 degree about every 90 - 120 seconds. Electric heater (vary's by KW) on average: cold to hot = 8-13 hours. Swimming pool with gas heater (no suggestion for electric) about 1 degree temp rise every 90 minutes.

Double check to make sure he put the sensor on the inlet side of the heater. Sounds like you are reading temp of water leaving the heater.
