was born March 15, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Pearl Eugene Miller, Sr. and Mamie Verta Ritchie Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Clamon Clayton; brother, P.E. Miller, and sisters, Evelyn Hill and Lucille Carter. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

Maxine a loving mother and grandmother. She always took care of everyone. Maxine had a green thumb, and enjoyed growing her flowers and doing yard work. Along with her husband, she was owner and operator of Clayton's Grocery Store in Richfield.

Bill was a very special individual who loved meeting and helping people. He never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed his time with his second family at Trinity Place where he met many new friends.
