The full cast of the Netflix series The Five Juanas features a plethora of telenovela veterans as well as some actors who've appeared in popular English-language movies. The series follows five women, all named Juana, who meet by chance at a Cancun resort and discover they're connected by an identical fish-shaped birthmark. The twisted tale that follows sees the Juanas uniting to uncover the truth about their parentage and take revenge on the man who fathered them all: politician Simón Marroquín. The Five Juanas is a re-imagining of Las Juanas, a 1997 Colombian miniseries by Bernardo Romero Pereiro, which he remade for Mexican television in 2004. It’s common for such series to be retold, and several telenovelas have been remade for American audiences. This version of The Five Juanas, made in Mexico and produced by Netflix, was written by Alejandro Reyes and Jimena Romero, the daughter of Bernardo Romero Pereiro. Romero is a seasoned telenovela writer, and several members of the Five Juanas full cast are very familiar with the genre. The talented ensemble cast also features stars with major English-language productions to their name and one popular Latin musician.
Renata Notni As Juana Valentina
Renata Notni leads the cast of The Five Juanas as Juana Valentina, a Mexican journalist and the de facto leader of the Juanas. Notni’s prolific career has seen her play major roles in several telenovelas. Her first credit was as Andrea Garza Durán in Còdigo Postal, a role which she played for 200 episodes between mid-2006 and early-2007. Notni’s other major telenovela credits include Marisol in Amorcito Corazón, Paloma in Qué Bonito Amor, and Aurora Sánchez in Mi Adorable Maldición. Renata Notni’s film work has also seen her as a part of dysfunctional families in such roles as Gala in Grumpy Christmas and the romantic lead Camila in Malcriados.
Oka Giner As Juana Caridad
Oka Giner plays Juana Caridad, a novitiate poised to take her holy orders as a nun despite the pang of temptation holding her back. Before being cast in The Five Juanas, Giner’s first acting credit saw her play the lead role of Bárabara Fuenmayor in Gossip Girl: Acapulco. Her career has involved major roles in several telenovelas, including Susy Sanders in Bajo El Mismo Cielo, Yesenia Pérez González in ¿Quién es Quién?, and Rosario Franco in Lady of Steel. Since The Five Juanas debuted in 2021, Giner has appeared in significant roles in five other series, including Vale in the Max sitcom Ninis and Elsa Quiroga in Perdona Nuestros Pecados.
Juanita Arias As Juana Matilde
Juanita Arias plays Juana Matilde, the timid Colombian singer who knows little about her past. Juanita Arias often goes by Juana in her credited roles, making her the only member of the Five Juanas full cast to share a name with their character. Arias’s first role was as Cage in the English-language sci-fi film Android Insurrection. She has since appeared in several telenovelas such as Mamá También, in which she plays Andrea Turbay, En Otra Piel, appearing as Eileen Parker, and Mujer de Nadie, as Paulina Altamirano. Outside the telenovela genre, she played Jenny in Run Coyote Run and Claudia in Narcos: Mexico.
Zuria Vega As Juana Manuela
Zuria Vega appears as the main character Juana “Manny” Manuela in the Five Juanas cast. Manny is a world-weary exotic dancer in league with politician Simón Marroquín, whom she initially believes to be her uncle. Vega is another accomplished telenovela actress. One of her earliest roles was Renata Higareda Fontana on the Mexican series Alma de Hiero, for which she is credited on 391 episodes between 2008 and 2009. She also starred as Estrella Marina Briceño on the telenovela series Mar de Amor. In film, she co-stars in 2023's Quiero Tu Amor and plays another daughter to an unworthy father in the 2010 drama Sin Ella.
Sofia Engberg As Juana Bautista
Juana Bautista, the Mayan clairvoyant who uses her talents to aid the group, is played by Sofia Engberg. Before joining the Five Juanas cast, Engberg had appeared in relatively few productions. She has made small appearances in two other Netflix series, playing a shop assistant character in The Club and a radio station journalist in the Mexican series Everything is Going to Be Fine, which was created by Andor star Diego Luna. She is expected to play her first movie role as the star of the Mexican independent film El Imperio del Fracaso.
Carlos Ponce As Simón Marroquín
Carlos Ponce plays Simón Marroquín, a corrupt politician and the father of the five Juanas. Carlos Ponce, like other members of the Five Juanas full cast, is an accomplished telenovela actor, having played such lead characters as Bruce Remington in Dame Chocolate and Humberto Cano in Santo Diabla. Ponce has also appeared in prominent English-language projects, playing the recurring role of Carlos Rivera in Seventh Heaven and Emilio Diaz in Major Crimes. On film, Ponce plays a helicopter pilot in Murder Mystery 2, Matthew Wright in Spy, and Rodrigo in Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo. Additionally, Ponce is a popular recording artist. His self-titled debut album reached double-platinum status.

Iván Amozurrutia as Federico - A craft beer entrepreneur and romantic interest of Juana Valentina. Iván Amozurrutia also stars as Osvaldo in the telenovela Enamorándome de Ramón. His other roles include Vicente in another Spanish-language Netflix hit, Fake Profile. He played Poncho Quiroga in High Heat, which also stars The Five Juanas co-star Oka Giner.
Ricky Del Real as Daniel - The owner of a gay club who holds a surprising connection to Juana Matilde’s parentage. The Five Juanas is Ricky Del Real’s only acting credit. Del Real is a Taekwondo practitioner who represented Mexico in the Sydney Olympic Games.
Pablo Astiazarán as Camilo - An ally to the Juanas. Outside being part of the full cast of The Five Juanas, Pablo Astiazarán starred as Yadel in the series Amarres and played Email in Club De Cuervos. In film, he played Samuel in Yo Fausto.
Fernando Becerril as Rogelio - Simón’s dangerous, controlling father. He is played by Fernando Becerril, who has also appeared as Arturo Montalbán in the telenovela Por Tí and appears alongside fellow Five Juanas star Juanita Arias as Wenceslao in Run Coyote Run. In English-language cinema, he played Don Diaz in the Antonio Banderas Zorro films and the prison director in the Mel Gibson movie Get The Gringo.
Jorge Antonio Guerrero as Lorenzo - A romantic interest for Juana Caridad, who causes her to question her decision to become a nun. Jorge Antonio Guerrero plays Mario Aburto in Netflix’s Crime Diaries: The Candidate. His movie roles include a dancer in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Solomon in the independent film We Are Living Things, and Fermín in one of the best Spanish-language films of all time: Roma.
Verónica Merchant as Susana - In the Five Juanas cast, Verónica Merchant plays Susana, a woman who helps the Juanas get revenge on Simón. Merchant has played major roles in numerous other telenovelas, including Cristina in Vivir a Destiempo, Aurora Santos in Así en el Barrio como en el Cielo, and Pilar Riveira in Mujer de Nadie.
Mauricio Isaac as Victor - Rogelio’s henchman. He’s played by Victor Isaac, whose other roles include the Brother in Narcos: Mexico and Heriberto in Natural Born Narco. He also stars in Amarres alongside fellow Five Juanas actor Pablo Astiazarán.
Guillermo Zulueta as Jordi - A hacker and love interest to Juana Matilde. He’s played in the cast of The Five Juanas by Guillermo Zulueta, whose other roles include Amigo in Luis Miguel: The Series and Lucas Iglesias in Lady of Steel, which features The Five Juanas star Oka Giner.
