Host in Your Backyard

Big or small, your backyard can be the perfect backdrop for your kids' very own Jurassic Park themed party. You can use grass and tall trees to your advantage and turn this area into a dinosaur's dream come true. Your backyard will be your canvas.
For example, you can use an outside area to place a cute sand pit for excavation games or a large astroturf to create a rich, green jungle perfect for dinosaurs.
Ticket Invites

Your kid's invitation can be in the shape of a ticket with the Jurassic Park logo, the date, the time, and a fake barcode at the bottom. You can also add a plastic clip or a long lanyard so each kid can wear them easily and neatly as they enter the party. If you want to customize these tickets further, you can provide a large blank space for them to fill out their name.
Balloon Dinos

Transform your space into Jurassic World with a bunch of balloon dinos. You can craft your own dinosaur using a bunch of balloons or create a herd of these creatures with shapes resembling the long-necked Sauropods or even the flying Pterodactyl.
Face Painting

Hire a local face painter to transform little guests into their favorite dinosaurs. Before you know it you’ll have little T-Rexes and Triceratops running around like the true atmosphere of Jurassic Park. Plus, the photos from the party will be extra adorable with all the painted faces.
Jungle Backdrop

Whether your kids are flying in by helicopter or taking a sailboat to Jurassic Park, you'll want to set a magical scene when they arrive. You can transport your kids straight onto the island and into the deep, dark jungle with the help of a large, realistic backdrop. These oversized backgrounds can vary from the classic park gate to the island's flaming volcano.
Warning Signs and Tape

Using cardboard, stickers, and lots of bright colors, you can decorate this dinosaur party with lots of signs straight from Jurassic Park. Each dramatic sign can point your kids in the right direction to the food, drinks, and presents table. If you want to make these signs slightly more authentic, you can add glossy red tape and a tall wooden pillar to act as a life-like stand.
Siren Lights

You can transport the kids to Jurassic Park with red, blue, and yellow lights. For safety purposes, these lights don't need to flash throughout the day and can add a thrilling look on or off. Whether you use old fairy lights or LEDs, you can create a siren light by covering each bulb with small bright beacons. Thanks to the Bash, you can also rent colorful lights from your nearby DJ or event hire.
Costumed Character

It wouldn’t be a Jurassic Park themed party without an appearance from a real, live, in-action dinosaur! Hire a costumed character vendor to run around, take photos, and give off the true Jurassic Park vibes.
Dinosaur Cookies

These shortbread cookies are easy to make and easy to eat. This finger-friendly food may be in the shape of your kid's favorite dinosaur, including the brontosaurus and the stegosaurus. Decorate the dinosaur cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and edible glitter. If you’re looking for an activity, you can have the little ones decorate their own.
Jell-O Dinosaur Eggs

Time to create your very own dinosaur egg! Since the DNA of an Indominus rex and a Velociraptor are both unavailable, parents across the globe have found a cool way to make their own dinosaur replicas.
These dino-jelly eggs are fun to make and super easy to eat. All you'll need are egg shaped molds or cookie cutters and Jell-O. It's recommended to use the Jell-o Jigglers recipe. Once you've made your eggs, you can distinguish each by color and label them a different type of dinosaur. The more colors, the more dinos!
Dinosaur Nuggets

Whether your kid is a vegetarian, like the Triceratops, or meat-loving, like the Allosaurus, a dinosaur nugget can be a great snack at any time of the day. These treats are easy to find in your local supermarket and will take no more than 15 minutes to prepare.
Frozen Slushies

Full of flavor and filled with lots of ice. It's time to step out of the island's incredible heat and into the freezing ice age with a couple of frozen slushies. These sweet drinks can help you, and your kids freeze time at your first Jurassic Park party. You can also explore a variety of flavors, like raspberry, lemon and lime, mango, tropical, blueberry, peach, and much more.
Chocolate Milk

Step into the wonders of Jurassic Park with a glass of chocolate milk. This brown, delicious drink can remind your kids of the large island with muddy pathways and tall trees, and who can forget about those terrifying swamps.
Swamp Juice

In Jurassic Park, dinosaurs drink water from the cold, wet swamp. Luckily, your kids won't need a swamp; all they'll need is some delicious swamp (apple) juice. This murky yet healthy drink can transport your children into the dinosaur world.
DJ

There's nothing more iconic than a good theme song, especially the soundtrack of Jurassic Park. That's why you can change the game at a Jurassic Park themed birthday party with a DJ that can play tunes that fit the theme. Hire a DJ to play music throughout the party and also act as an Emcee to help with party games and activities to get everyone involved.
A DIY Dino-Mite Cake

Even if you're not a baking pro, you can create your own DIY dinosaur cake. All you need to do is bake the birthday boy or girl's favorite type of cake (we're guessing funfetti), and use some green frosting for grass. Then, buy some new, small, plastic dinosaurs and arrange them on top!
Balloon Twister

Let your kid's imagination run wild with Dino-shaped balloons! Professional and friendly balloon twisters are fabulous for entertaining kids and can even add to your decor. Hire a balloon twister who can specialize in everything from Jurassic Park dinosaurs to animals from the Disney film, The Lion King.
Fossil Hunt

Finding lost treasure can be fun, but has your kid ever found a giant dinosaur bone in their backyard? Hosting a fossil (scavenger) hunt is a great way to let your guests explore and feel like they're teamed up with Jurassic Park's famous paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant.
To do this, all you'll need is a large sandbox filled with lost dinosaur bones. Once you've buried every item, you can create a map for your kids to find every ancient fossil. The child with the most missing pieces wins!
Rex Rover
Photo: BearFotos/shutterstock.com
You might have heard of the game "Red Rover," but have you played red rover as a terrifying T-REX? The game starts with one of the children on one side of the room while their friends stand on the other side of the room.
The kid standing alone will be the T-REX and yell "Red Rover, Red Rover," as well as their friend's name to "come over." Once a friend is called, they must run as fast as possible to get past the T-REX and toward safety.
Slime Attack

Inspired by the venom-spitting dinosaur, the Dilophosaurus, slime attack is a game where your kids can run, hide, jump, and throw tons of slime. All you'll need is a couple of balloons filled with green gooey slime. If you can't find or don't have access to slime at your toy store, you can create your own giant ball of slime with a mixture of green and yellow food coloring, baking soda, and a touch of glue.
Dinosaur Hands
Photo: Zwiebackesser/shutterstock.com
Does your child want to create their very own dinosaur? With a bucket of paint, you can help them and their friends make a dinosaur that they can take home. To begin, you can provide each guest with a white canvas or a large sheet of paper. Then, have each child pick their favorite color paint and let them paint their entire hand in one color.
Once each kid is ready, they can slap their hand on the canvas and create their own dinosaur hand. Your kid can add cute googly eyes or a touch of glitter to complete their painting!
Stuck in the Mud
Photo: Ultimate Hero/shutterstock.com
Stuck in the mud is a game of tag, but instead of getting someone else to be the tagger, your kid gets tagged, freezes, and slowly melts in an imaginary patch of quicksand. To start the game, you'll have to appoint one kid to tag everyone while the rest of the team runs away.
If a team member notices that their friend is stuck and needs help, it's their job to run and save them. Only problem... they'll need to be as quick as they can; otherwise, the tagger will find them and tag them too! If everyone is stuck, the tagger wins the game and gets to appoint a new person to be the tagger.
