Willow TV Show New Cast & Returning Character Guide (2024)

Willow is back, and so is its title character, joined in the show by an exciting mix of returning actors and new cast members. Releasing on Disney+, Lucasfilm's six-part Willow TV series serves as a sequel to the 1988 fantasy film of the same name. Warwick Davis reprises his titular role, as the Nelwyn sorcerer embarks on a new adventure through the Mother World. Along the way, he encounters some familiar faces as well as a number of characters who weren't in the original movie.

Unlike his hailed reprisal as Iceman in Top Gun: Maverick, Val Kilmer was unable to return to Willow as the Daikini warrior Madmartigan. But the character is expected to be acknowledged in a major way. Fans of the movie will still be happy to see some of the other original players returning after nearly 35 years. Meanwhile, a few well-known actors and rising stars are also on board for Willow's new quest. Here's a guide to all the new and returning cast members in Willow, who they play, and where you know them from.

Warwick Davis As Willow Ufgood

There would be no Willow without Warwick Davis, who is back as Willow Ufgood. Now a seasoned sorcerer, the character is tasked with leading a new quest that again takes him out of Nelwyn Village and across the fantastical realm of the Mother World. Davis is a Lucasfilm favorite, having made his film debut as the Ewok called Wicket in Return of the Jedi and appearing in various other roles in Star Wars movies and shows since. The actor is also known for playing the title character in the Leprechaun horror franchise and Hogwarts's Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies.

Joanne Whalley As Sorsha

One of the other returning cast members from the Willow movie is Joanne Whalley. She reprises her role as Sorsha, who is now queen and the mother of Princess Jade and the kidnapped Prince Airk. After the original Willow, Whalley went on to co-star in such movies as Scandal, Navy SEALS, and The Man Who Knew Too Little, but more recently she's become known for playing Sister Maggie in Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil show and Vanozza Cattaneo on The Borgias.

Erin Kellyman As Jade

Rising star Erin Kellyman has become a Disney franchise regular, with her breakthrough role as the antihero Enfys Nest in Solo: A Star Wars Story followed up by a regular part in the Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as the Flag Smashers leader, Karli Morgenthau. She also recently co-starred in the fantasy film The Green Knight. In the Willow show, Kellyman plays Jade, a knight-in-training who joins the quest alongside her romantic partner, Princess Jade.

Prince Graydon Hastur is another member of the quest in the Willow TV show. He is indeed a prince, but the son of Queen Arianna, not Sorsha. He is also a scholar. Graydon is played by Tony Revolori, who like Kellyman (and maybe Whalley?) is part of the MCU, as he's best known for portraying Flash Thompson in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man movies. Before that part, though, he broke out with his lauded performance as Zero Moustafa in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Rounding out the members of Willow's new quest is the character known as Boorman. Like Val Kilmer's Madmartigan from the original Willow movie, Thraxus Boorman is a great swordsman but also a bit of a scoundrel. Similar to Madmartigan, he's initially in prison, in his case for being a thief, but he's freed and joins the heroic adventure. Actor Amar Chadha-Pate, who plays Boorman, is best known for roles in such shows as The Wheel of Time, Beecham House, and The Third Day.
